Repairs

Repairs is a project that emerges from the observation of the domestic environment and the affective relationships we establish with everyday objects.
The work is constructed from broken pieces —jugs, glasses, cups, teapots— that are collected and subsequently recomposed through a process of sewing. Each fragment is covered in fabric and joined together again until it recovers its original form.
This gesture of reconstruction brings opposing states into tension, such as fracture and union, loss and recovery, making visible the fragility inherent both to the object and to the bond we establish with it.
The act of sewing is proposed as a gesture of care and repair, where the object is transformed without hiding its breakage, opening a reflection on the possibility of recomposing that which has been damaged.
