Nest
Nest is an installation created within the framework of the Beginnings festival in Évora, constructed from branches, leaves and plant elements collected on site.During the weaving process, fragments of synthetic materials—plastics and textiles—found in the festival's surroundings are also incorporated, integrating remains of human origin into the structure. The result is a human-scale nest that shifts the idea of refuge towards the body, proposing an experience of habitability. The piece establishes a relationship between the construction methods of other species and the impact of human waste on their habitats. The work thus proposes a reflection on the coexistence between the natural and the residual, evidencing how these materials become integrated into environments and transform ways of inhabiting.
